The Green Room

I have recently had the urge to completely redo my room and I left this project for my holiday. In the beginning, I was not quite sure what I should do in the room but I was certain that I wanted different shades of green. Thus I have one wall in a leaf green colour and the other is a deep oceanic green, almost emerald. To accompany the green walls, I brought in some greenery and different shades of green scatter cushions to add to my forest room. For a bit of colour pop I added a big fluffy mustard yellow coloured pillow in the middle of the bed. I also bought a large canvas so that I can cover the empty space above the ped with something fitting, and what other than gooseberries! The yellow gooseberries will tie in beautifully with my mustard scatter pillow.

I felt very crafty and decided to make little Joey a Bohemian Princess hanging bed. I constructed it from old canvas material and some PVC pipes that I found in the garage. Joey loves to swing to sleep on her bed. At first I was skeptical and I didn't think that she will like her bed, but she has grown to love it!

Another crafty project that I tackled was the construction of my Edison pendant lights. Can you believe that I made these lampshades from R23-00 fruit bowls that I found at Everlasting?  With a little bit of elbow grease, rose gold spray paint and a bit of googling I managed to make these lampshades for my room. The entire renovation, including the paint and decor cost me no more than R 1500-00. Now that's student budgeting at its best.
