He Loves Me was inspired by the game known as 'he loves me he, loves me not' a game played by picking the petals off of a flower and saying: 'he loves me' 'he loves me not' with each petal that is pulled off in hopes of determining whether a crush's feelings are mutual. The half flowers represent people who have gone through loss, heartache, grief, abandonment, sorrow, failure or rejection. Each time a petal is removed from a flower, it represents the person suffering one of these negative emotions, and during life, everyone faces one or more of these challenges. When these half 'damaged' flowers are placed next to each other, they form one whole flower again. This forms a metaphor of two people completing each other and that their past troubles do not matter.
